Adam Ahlblad used Surewood 80/85 Shafts and his ACS CX longbow to take this Utah Bull Elk in August 2011.
Bjorn Ahlblad used 80/85# Surewood Shafts and his ACS CX longbow to take this California free range Hog in March 2011.
Got back from Alaska and came back with lots of memories and one small caribou. Lots of guys around camp and in the wild, looked at my recurve and wood arrows and wondered how in the heck can a guy with this equipment be successful?
Well, I was. Ron French made the arrows out of your Surewood Shafts and I have never seen a truer shot on an animal. The small bull ran for maybe 10 seconds and died fast. Keep on making great shafts!
Oh, it was a Blacktail Hunter bow, with a Zwickey head, and a 23 yard shot...in North Hebo!

Brad Robin
Guys, here is a picture of the Wyoming antelope I shot last week. It was tough year for me and the end of the hunt was near so when I got a chance at this one I took it.
Jack Denbow
Chase Brown with a 2011 Arizona javalina. Chase was using a Great Plains T/D recurve, Surewood Shafts and Zwickey broadheads.
Just returned from the Alaska Range, south of Fairbanks. My hunting companions were fellow longbow shooters Russ Morgan and Brad Hayes. I used a Thunderhorn longbow, 59 @ 27", Surewood Doug-fir Shaft, Eclipse 125, total arrow weight 562gr. The shot was 13 yards. He was dead within sight in about 10 seconds after the shot. It was a great time and the hunting wasn't bad either.

Fred Cliff of Bend, Oregon displays the fine Utah elk he got using a Surewood Doug-fir Shaft.
Michael Kenworthy of Eugene, Oregon.
He used a 90# Mark Koss Longbow, with a Surewood Shaft and a
125 gr. Zwickey head. The Elk was shot at 22 yards on the Oregon Coast.
It was his first traditional kill. The bull expired in 8 seconds.
Here’s a picture of me with my first javelina and my first archery harvest, and Surewood Shafts of course!

A slow year, we'll try and make up for it next year! Here is a pig I shot on Maui on Dec 16, 2011 at 4 yards with a DF from my 54# longbow.

“I made my friend six of your shafts. He got this one with 80-85 spine and his 75# Dalton, it was a shoot through. Thought you and the rest at Surewood enjoy this.”
Hey guys...just wanted to pass along a photo of the buck I killed Nov. 20th using my Blacktail Bow and doug fir arrows. Hope you guys have had some luck in the woods this fall.
Ron French
Hey guys,
Thought I'd send you a pic of a buck I killed last Wednesday up here in Clackamas County with my Blacktail recurve, and an arrow I made from one of your Surewood Doug-fir Shaft. The other photo is some arrows I made out of some Hemlock shafts you guys made and I acquired through a trade. They turned out beautiful and shoot awesome out of both my son's 55# bows! Hope your seasons have been successful, and you keep producing a quality product!
Thanks, Ron French
On October 15, I snuck in the dark to my stand at the southwest corner of the property, next to the swampy “buck sanctuary” where the big boys hide out. At 7:45 he ambled out of the thick cover north of me, across the wind, and presented a shot at 12 yards. The broadhead took out his left lung and grazed his heart. He wheeled and went back up the trail he’d come down, got maybe 50 yards before piling up.
I used a 64 inch Robertson Vision Longbow, 66 lbs @ 27 inch draw, 620 grain tapered douglas fir arrows (Surewood Shafts), Grizzly El Grande heads, weight augmented to 175 grains.
Nick Jacquez, southern Michigan
Tracy Villwok shot a 7' chocolate phase black bear in Wyoming with a Wilderness Custom Arrow made from Surewood Shaft.
I put in my time and got a beautiful bear, clean pass through on the right side quartering away shot, using a Check-Mate longbow “Beaver Creek” 75#, that was custom made for me by Marc Moriez and a 650 grain Surewood Shaft custom made by David Lawson, thank you Bob.
Jesse Woiwod
Jesse Woiwod takes another bear, shot at British Columbia, Canada. The Surewood Shaft custom made arrow by David Lawson was a complete pass through. He said the bear only went 10 yards before falling over. Jesse is looking forward to seeing how the arrows do on deer this year.
Ok, 2012 is better now that I know I won't be skunked! The cinnamon/chocolate black bear taken on an Alaskan canoe trip with a 1970 Bear Kodiak Hunter (Jon Voight special) and a limited edition Surewood Shaft Tamarack arrow. And yes, I did hear a banjo!
Steve Hohensee
Just got back last night from the Eagle Cap Wilderness in Oregon's Wallowa Mountains. Your shafts flew wonderfully. I used a 52# Yew wood self bow, Surewood Shafts, Grizzly tips, 520 gr total weight.
Keep making those good Douglas Fir shafts.
Gary Tarver
This is a Montana bighorn sheep killed with a Wilderness Custom Arrows, made from a Surewood Shaft. Very rare to be successful in doing this AND with a longbow!
Lenny Brown
A couple of pics from Dave Brinker. The deer was taken at Hart Mountain, Oregon. The western Oregon elk was a complete pass through at 30 yards. Dave was using 80/85 Surewood Shaft, 54 PD., a Blacktail Bow and 175 grain Abowyer Broadhead.
Hello to all, hope you guys are all doing well. Had some adventure the other day. I took some Surewood Shafts out for a winter hike, came home with one less shaft. Seems like a good trade. Keep up the good work! Best wood arrow shafts out there! Thanks.
Pat & Desera Lopez, Idaho
My 2012 mule deer taken with one of your Surewood Shafts, powered by a Robertson Stykbow.
Robert Bourland, Oregon
I used a Surewood Doug Fir arrow and my 51# ACS CX to take this handsome fella' in December 2012.
North of San Francisco near the coast.

A pic to show my satisfaction after switching to your Surewood Shafts Hunters Grade. And that's a vintage bear razor head that was still in the original package from the sixties! Stick bow and all caveman style. Thanks,
Jeff Glover; Bowyer, Hunter, Prescott Arizona
Thanks so much for the Surewood Shafts. The BEST wood shafts I have ever seen or shot!
